Françoise-Charlotte de Senneterre Ménétou (1679-1745) was a French harpsichordist and composer. She studied with François Couperin, who included a piece entitled La Ménétou in his second book of harpsichord pieces. As a young girl of nine years, she played for Louis XIV and the Dauphine Marie Anne Christine Victoire of Bavaria, and her playing was said to be ‘délicieuse.’ Several pieces by her are contained in a 1689 manuscript along with works by J.-H. D’Anglebert, Michel Lambert, Nicolas Lebègue and Lully. In 1691, she published her Recueil d’airs, making her the youngest female composer to have her music printed by Christoph Ballarde.
